Executive Vice President
Mr. Opper is Executive Vice President of Broadview Investors. He has over twenty-five years of commercial real estate acquisitions, structured finance, asset management and property management experience.
For the past eight years, Mr. Opper was a Senior Investment Officer at Fidelity Investments where he was responsible for the origination, acquisition, negotiation and closing of opportunistic equity and mezzanine debt investments in multifamily, office, retail, hotel and industrial properties throughout the United States. Such opportunistic investments utilized development, renovation, leasing, management, distressed and capital markets strategies to realize excess returns.
Prior to joining Fidelity, Mr. Opper was Senior Vice President of Acquisitions at Boston Capital Corporation. During his seven years at Boston Capital, he was responsible for the origination, structuring, negotiating and closing of conventional and Section 42 apartment properties across the United States. He also initiated, structured and marketed a conventional market rate apartment fund.
Prior to Boston Capital, he spent five years at Liberty Real Estate Group where he was a Vice President of Acquisitions responsible for commercial property acquisitions and dispositions throughout the United States, including distressed asset portfolio bids. While at Liberty, he was a member of the Investment Committee and also had asset management responsibilities which included property dispositions and financing.
Mr. Opper earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He holds the Certified Property Manager designation from and is currently a member of the Institute of Real Estate Management. Other professional affiliations include the National Multifamily Housing Council, International Council of Shopping Centers, Urban Land Institute and Real Estate Finance Association.
